Additionally\, we will see how it is a valuable opportunity for teaching good civics for the betterment of our world.\n\nSession One:  Building Blocks for A Solid Foundation\nWe will cover essential documents for your ministry that describe the roles\, responsibilities and processes for governance.  These will include:  Bylaws\, Policy Manuals\, Procedures\, Code of Ethics\, Conflict of Interest statements\, and Board minutes.  What’s in these documents\, why they are important\, who they apply to\, who should read them\, best practices for updating and maintaining them. \nAbout the Facilitator\nReverend Mary Masters has served as the Senior Minister at Unity of Buffalo for almost 20 years now. She has also served on the Eastern Region Board\, and a Board President\, and on the Unity Worldwide Ministries Board of Trustees\, and Board chair for one year.  Rev. The first five sessions are open to everyone; the final two will be a deep dive into Unity prayer\, intended for prayer chaplain training. DESCRIPTION:Join us for two free guided labyrinth walks on the first Wednesday of the month\, April – October! \nThe first walk is at 7:30am and the second walk is at 10:00am. \nThe labyrinth at Unity of Roanoke Valley is outdoors\, making it easy to practice social distancing.The Labyrinth is an archetype\, a divine imprint\, found in many religious traditions around the world. They may take many forms\, from mathematically precise stone circles to garden mazes to temporary chalk designs. The labyrinth is a metaphor for our spiritual journey. Its single meandering path centers the body and calms the mind. The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other is meant to be a meditative practice\, for in walking the path of life\, the soul opens to its sacred healing and wholeness. By walking the labyrinth we are rediscovering a long-forgotten mystical tradition. \nLove offerings are always welcome to help with the upkeep of the labyrinth. DESCRIPTION: The Sacred Sound Circle is an open community drum/sound circle where people can come to express their creativity and voices as powerful tools to heal and help others using the energy being created from the beautiful vibrations of the group. \nWe use a variety of instruments such as drums\, bells\, rain sticks\, singing bowls\, shakers\, and tambourines for example\, and also our voices to chant\, hum\, and sing mantras for healing. \nWe provide the majority of the instruments but feel free to bring your own if you feel the need.Donations are always welcome and appreciated but are never expected.
