DESCRIPTION: The Sacred Sound Circle is an open community drum/sound circle where people can come to express their creativity and voices as powerful tools to heal and help others using the energy being created from the beautiful vibrations of the group. \nWe use a variety of instruments such as drums\, bells\, rain sticks\, singing bowls\, shakers\, and tambourines for example\, and also our voices to chant\, hum\, and sing mantras for healing. \nWe provide the majority of the instruments but feel free to bring your own if you feel the need.Donations are always welcome and appreciated but are never expected. DESCRIPTION:Join us for 21st Century Ministry Enhancement: The Art and Practice of Governance for the 21st Century Session 1 – Building Blocks for a Solid Foundation \n\n\n\nFacilitated by Reverend Mary Masters \n\n\n\nThis event is sponsored by Unity Worldwide Ministries Eastern Region and Southeast Region. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIncluded in this event:\n\n\n\nThis series is for anyone who thinks of governance as their least favorite part of ministry\, or even “a necessary evil.” Ministers and spiritual leaders\, as well as Board members and anyone who wants to participate in the governance of their ministry\, and encourage others to participate\, with greater effectiveness\, fulfillment and joy\, will benefit from attending this seminar.   Over the series of the two sessions\, we will discover governance can be an “expressive art not unlike preaching\,” and that it is a spiritual practice. Additionally\, we will see how it is a valuable opportunity for teaching good civics for the betterment of our world.\n\n\n\nSession One:  Building Blocks for A Solid Foundation\n\n\n\nWe will cover essential documents for your ministry that describe the roles\, responsibilities and processes for governance.  These will include:  Bylaws\, Policy Manuals\, Procedures\, Code of Ethics\, Conflict of Interest statements\, and Board minutes.  What’s in these documents\, why they are important\, who they apply to\, who should read them\, best practices for updating and maintaining them. \n\n\n\nAbout the Facilitator\n\n\n\nReverend Mary Masters has served as the Senior Minister at Unity of Buffalo for almost 20 years now. She has also served on the Eastern Region Board\, and a Board President\, and on the Unity Worldwide Ministries Board of Trustees\, and Board chair for one year.  Rev. Ministers and LUTs are required to track and document their potential CEUs and submit them yearly with their annual report.
