It is our calling to share our message with those who are seeking ways to live a spiritual life in this world. We believe that God is good and present everywhere. Accordingly, the spirit of God lives within each of us and therefore we are inherently good. Through positive thinking and affirmative prayer, we create our life experiences increasing our connection to God. We envision ourselves practicing these principles in our daily lives.
Our Church is a non-denominational Christ-based community and, as its name implies, welcomes and cherishes all people. You may know about Unity from the Daily Word, our daily devotional that brings comfort and insight to millions of people around the world, or from Silent Unity, our worldwide prayer ministry.

About Rev. Charles Foley & Rev Janie-Marie Manigault
Reverend Charles Foley has been an active member Unity Church of Christianity in Valley Stream since 1994. Charles is a firm believer in living a life of prayer, meditation, and life-long study to reveal the Spirit of Truth within as taught and demonstrated by Jesus Christ. As we are lifted up individually and collectively, we will lift everyone with us. It is our mission that we may come into a greater awareness and experience of our oneness with God and each other. Charles is always encouraging our church family to take our understanding of Truth deeper and to minister with unconditional love for all. “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciple, if you love one another.” Charles believes that our true nature is love and actively shares this message each Sunday. For love is not exclusive to anyone, but inclusive of everyone.
It was shortly after September 11th that Charles had a life changing wake-up call from the Holy Spirit which led to his calling to ministry. His life has never been the same, filled with many “ahaa” moments, blessings, and life affirming events. Charles also loves to share his favorite “Dad Jokes” knowing a cheerful heart is good medicine (Proverbs 17:22). A native of Long Island, Charles has had a long successful career in the financial service industry. Charles, his wife Sarah, and two grown children have lived in the nearby Lynbrook, Malverne, Lakeview community since 1994.
Reverend Janie-Marie Manigault has been an active member of New Thought and Unity communities since the age of four, building a lifelong foundation in spiritual truth, affirmative prayer, and the awareness of Divine presence. She believes in the transformative power of Mind Action and is devoted to cultivating positive, constructive thinking as a pathway to a meaningful life.
Rev. Janie-Marie is committed to raising Christ Consciousness through teaching, prayer, and spiritual awareness, recognizing education as a cornerstone of personal and collective transformation.
Her life is a testimony of faith and perseverance. After facing significant physical challenges that once limited her mobility, she remained grounded in Unity principles and never gave up. Today, she lives in gratitude, affirming that “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.”
Rooted in the Truth of her inherent Divinity, Rev. Janie-Marie embraces her calling to awaken others to their own. Inspired by the teachings of Charles Fillmore and Unity’s Fifth Principle—“I make a difference”—she leads with faith, compassion, and a heart of service.
Her life reflects her childhood affirmation: “Day by day, in every way, I am getting better and better.” Through her ministry, she invites all to remember their true nature—Divine, whole, and ever-unfolding in Spirit.
